Alectris joined Baku International Energy Charter Forum

Constantinos Peonides, Director of Alectris, joined the Baku International Energy Charter Forum organized by the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and the International Energy Charter on October 23-24, 2019 in Hilton Baku, Azerbaijan.

Constantinos as a Vice-Chair of Task Force of SolarPower Europe was invited to represent the SPE organization at the event.

The forum was dedicated to an in-depth discussion about “Enabling Energy Transformation through Technology and Policy Innovations”, the challenges and priorities set out by Azerbaijan considering the incoming Chairmanship in the Energy Charter Conference in 2020. The concept of the conference was to introduce jointly with national, regional and international experts the global trends of innovation in the energy sector, their impact on reforms in this field and explore new opportunities for the energy development for the emerging market of Azerbaijan.

Constantinos participated in the first session of the conference on October 24, 2019 – “Deployment of renewables – the role of technologies and regulatory frameworks” along with the executives of European Commission and National Energy-related institutions of Azerbaijan, Spain, Austria, and Greece. He talked about developing solar projects and shared his extensive expertise on this topic. His co-speakers addressed subjects like New policies towards a zero-emissions economy and Enabling conditions for Renewable Energy in Azerbaijan.

The first session was followed by two other plenary gatherings dedicated to Promoting energy efficiency – sharing best practices and lessons learnt and the Regional dimension of supply security.
