#AssetManagementBites #4 from Solar Asset Management Best Practice Guidelines

Welcome to the #AssetManagementBites.

Every Monday we will be sharing with you one of the numerous recommendations, best practices and advises (“bites”) from the “Solar Asset Management Best Practice Guidelines Version 1.0”.

The document was developed by SolarPower Europe with the contribution of Alectris. The “Solar Asset Management Best Practice Guidelines Version 1.0” is a resourceful guide addressing the commercial and financial management of solar investments, balancing the risks, opportunities, costs, and performance benefits. The document aims to encourage asset managers to keep their services consistent and at the highest level.

Bite #4
Chapter 9: DATA MANAGEMENT AND HIGH-LEVEL MONITORING

9.1.2. Site construction due diligence

The Asset Manager should perform due diligence on the knowledge and expertise of the EPC contractor. All documentation and certification should be digitalised in the Asset Manage1ment Platform’s documentation management system (DMS). Re-certifications and training schedules should be calendared.

9.1.3. Optimisation of energy production

Power plant KPIs and O&M Contractor KPIs, as defined in chapter 11. Key Performance Indicators of the O&M Best Practice Guidelines should be calculated automatically by the monitoring platforms and should be integrated in the Asset Management Platform and used as a reference for contract compliance. It is important that these KPI calculations take various contractual clauses (exclusions) into consideration, for example in periods of force majeure events.
